a reminder to all parents.
by dannieboi ini became aware yesterday that my son had an account on myspace.com (without our permission)so i got his user name and password and logged on.
the site was filled with pictures, videos, surveys and a whole lot more.
as i clicked on the related sites of my son's friends, i saw that pornographic sites have the abilility to enter kids' sites under the guise of being a friend.

Even us as adults must be alert to our electronic footprint. It's a creepy, insidious world these days. It's hard even to know who to trust, or where to find it. The news comes to close to home, at times.

Perhaps Amanda has a few thoughts herself that may help with your focus. Especially since you've been through a few things together and are apparently still friends to each other.

Acts 5:42 (from house to house) OR (in private homes)
by rassillon in***i believe i have the correct scripture here but if i don't please correct me.
i have thought a great deal on this topic since i first read it in one of ray franz books isocf.. he had a section that dealt with the greek term translated "house to house" and compared it to other scriptures which contained the same greek phrase and showed that it was likely that it should be translated "in private homes".. now i know that some will make the point that "house to house" is a valid translation and from what i know (which is very little) cannot disagree.. what i can say though is that from my knowledge about life in this period and this area of the world and from my traveling to ruins of ancient citys i would have to agree with franz that the phrase "in private homes" makes more sense because preaching from "house to house/door to door" at that time period would have been extreemely ineffective.
preaching in a public square and then returning with interested ones to their "private homes" for further discussion would make more sense if one was to be effective.. from those with a knowledge of the time/place/culture that this scripture applies to, do you agree with me?

Does this amaze you or am I the only one????
by avidbiblereader ini will try to make this brief but how can you abbreviate love and kindness?
this is truly amazing!!!!
as many you have seen i ran into a small glitch on the forum the last couple of threads, without going into detail and really not necessary as there have been plenty of comments and views on both threads, i was willing to walk away from the forum because this is my nature as paul said in .

Interesting how even the most common pieces of "knowledge" have levels of controversy to them. In the Millenium, King David will be resurrected and he can tell us what he remembers. Surely, the others in the drama, or at least many of them will reappear to, perhaps even re-enacting the scene in one of the up-and-coming "new scrolls". The faithful must wait. For everything, there is a season. Turn, turn, turn: the pages will turn in the new scrolls. In the meantime, perhaps more intriguing stones will be unearthed. Even now, the stones are turned: turn, turn, turn.

The original sin
by onacruse inthis is a question i've had for a long time.. according to the biblical account, adam and eve's sin was to eat fruit from the forbidden tree.. now, ordinarily, when we get caught doing something "wrong," we try to hide the "offending" member (the child tries to hide his hand that has the 'stolen' cookie; we hurriedly try to pull our pants back on when mom walks in unexpectedly while we're masturbating, etc.)..
so, if the "sin" of adam and eve was eating a forbidden fruit, then why wasn't their first impulse to hide their hands?
or to wipe off their mouths?

Im sorry but this topic really is reaching. It makes no sense at all.
Please feel free to elaborate! Or does your represent the totality of your insights on this? The original sin reaches everyone, even those to whom it makes no sense at all. The wages of sin are paid to all who sin (al humans except Jesus Christ), and those who take on sin (Jesus Christ). The wages are suffering and death.
